My gathering of chapters for Child of Thunder was a little out of date and unlabeled, so I decided to go ahead and make a new one that included chapter six. In other news, my first book, That Hideous Slumber, should be available for purchase sometime tonight. It got rejected for a minor issue, but it should be good to go soon.

Excellent chapters. I really like chapter 1; you have quite a skill at roping my interest into the story and then piquing my curiosity about what's going to happen right before you end the chapter.
Chapter 5 highlights of mine include this great sentence:
"Curiosity burned in me like a lost lantern, flaming away untended on a forgotten street corner."
and learning a new word, miasma.
One thing I would suggest is to use Riley's name more often. I had to go back to chapter 1 just to remind myself what his name is. Superb work!

That's an interesting observation. I'll keep that in mind. There's a lot of little stuff like that I still need to fix, inconsistencies, awkward sentence structure and the like. I might try to slide his name in there once or twice more.
Also... I love the word miasma.
